5 Reasons NOT to Hire Lisa or Jeff from BURN Fitness Training…
1) I don’t want a program designed for ME… I’d prefer to work out with a “coach” leading 20+ people at once, or a Trainer who uses the SAME program for everyone!
Heaven forbid you actually get personal attention, or a program based on your personal goals, limitations, schedule, and fitness level! ALL group exercise programs, from Boot-Camps, to “Body-Pump” classes, to Orange Theory, to CrossFit… have one thing in common. For that class, everyone is pretty much doing the same thing, regardless of age, ability, or physical limitation (pre-existing injury). With Lisa or Jeff at BURN, your workout is based on your needs, your progression, and your limits.
2) I want to work with a Trainer with 3 months experience and NO experience training someone my age!
MOST big gym trainers have VERY limited experience in the business. That’s fine…Lisa and I started out as staff trainers in big gyms too (20 years ago). They just don’t KNOW the finer points of getting results. MOST have never worked with anyone over 30 years old, even in their training. Obviously, if you’re “middle-aged” or beyond, you NEED to work with someone who understands the challenges (physical and psychological) you’re faced with as an adult… not just hang-overs. For the SAME prices (typically), you can train at BURN with Lisa or myself… with over 20 years’ experience EACH.
3) I much prefer a crowded gym full of people who have no gym-etiquette… or clue!
Most gym trainers suffer through the frustration of TRYING to train clients in a crowded gym… WE’VE been there! Bench-hogs checking their Facebook sitting on a bench that you want to use. Three people trying to use the same machine… If you’re PAYING the rates that good trainers charge, you should be spending your WHOLE workout time working out!!! Not WAITING! BURN has 2000 sqft… and TWO Trainers… Just us, and our clients!
4) I prefer to work out with a Trainer who doesn’t actually work out, or watches what he/she eats!
This is one of our biggest pet peeves in our industry. Lisa and I actually PRACTICE WHAT WE PREACH. We see ourselves as LEADERS, as opposed to “Coaches” who give direction from the sidelines, yet do NOT lead “from the front”, and by example. We not only simply strive to be in “decent shape”, but push ourselves to the extremes of fitness in competition. FEW of our client ever expect to compete, but they can ALL be assured that their Trainer is working out at LEAST as hard as they are. We don’t expect our clients to do anything we wouldn’t do ourselves. THAT is integrity, leadership, and dedication to our craft as well as our careers.
5) I don’t want to actually change my LIFESTYLE. I just want to lose 10lb as fast as I can!
Quite simply… if you don’t want to ACTUALLY change yourself from the ground up, live healthier, be stronger, fitter, and healthier PLEASE don’t come to us! Don’t hire us.
If your idea of employing a Trainer is to lose a quick 10, 20, 30 pounds, and then go back to your old way of living that GOT YOU FAT to begin with… we honestly DON’T want you as a client.
I know that sounds harsh… but we are BUSY working with people with “skin in the game”, who want to make permanent change to their lives and lifestyle. We are dedicated to these clients. We are here FOR these clients. Taking time away from these lifestyle-focus clients to train someone who just wants a quick fix, and a quick exit, DETRACTS from what we do.
