BURN Fitness 101: New Year’s Weight Loss Goals, How to Succeed This Year!
For your New Year’s Resolution weight and fitness goals, you need to set a plan in motion if you want to succeed. Many people resolve to lose weight in the New Year, yet they really have no plan on how to actually do it. They go stand in line to join the gym… again… or they resolve to actually use the gym membership they’ve been paying for the last year, and never gone. They resolve to go on a diet. What diet? The same diet as last time… that worked for a short time… and then failed. Remember that diet?
If this is your plan this year too, to (re)join a gym that you never go to, and to restart a diet that fails every time… GOOD LUCK!
Instead, why don’t you plan something else… something that will actually work?
First, I’ll address the gym membership. Today’s gyms have thousands of members. They KNOW that the vast majority of their members never come. They count on this fact. They collect $20-30/month from 4,000 members. They take in $80,000 per month, and typically have 100-300 people use the gym per day. In fact if even a quarter of their paying members showed up for a Saturday workout, the fire department would shut them down for being dangerously overcrowded. They depend on the fact that only 1 in 10 members actually regularly use the gym at all. Are you one of that 1 in 10? Or are you in the 9 in 10 category?
My suggestion? Quit the gym… don’t depend on a business designed to reinforce your sedentary lifestyle. Hire a Personal Trainer who only gets paid if you actually work out!
A Trainer is an INVESTMENT, not an expense. Yes, a Trainer is pricier than a gym membership. But like any other investment, no matter how low the investment… if there’s no return on that investment it’s a bad one! By investing in a GOOD Personal Trainer, every minute you spend in the gym will be focused on your success, and you will have an APPOINTMENT so you’ll actually GO. Unlike your gym… just sitting there… hoping you never show up.
Second, I’ll address your diet. Who personally designed that diet for you? Nobody? You got it from a friend, or read about it in a magazine? I thought so. Is the diet based off your weight, your body composition, your goals, your workout, your lifestyle, your dietary restrictions, or even your preferred foods? Doubtful... So what’s the new diet plan??? Hire a Dietician! But a Dietician MUST be expensive!
A dietician isn’t expensive… if that Dietician is ALSO your Trainer!
So where do you find this new and successful plan? Give us a call over at BURN Fitness Training, and we’ll show you were to find both!
One last suggestion… DON’T hire an inexperienced 20-something Trainer, and DON’T hire a “nutritionist”. Lisa and I each have 20 YEARS in the business, and Lisa is actually a Licensed DIETICIAN.
